  • How do I renew a book?
    1. Go to: http://library.tccd.edu
    2. Click on My Account
    3. Login following onscreen instructions
    4. To renew an item, click in the Renew? check box beside the item and then click the Renew Items button. To uncheck the Renew? check boxes, click the Reset button.

  • How do I access the Library databases?
    1. Go to http://library.tccd.edu
    2. Click on Find Articles
    3. The databases are organized into subject categories, click on the category you wish to search.
    4. To find a database by name, click the first letter of the database name.
    5. To see a description of the database, click on the round dot to the left of the database name or click
    6. Click on the database name.
    7. Login according to the onscreen instructions.

  • Does the library have current textbooks available for check out?
    The Tarrant County College Libraries do not carry current classroom textbooks. Textbooks can be obtained at the Tarrant County College bookstores.

  • If I am not a Tarrant County College student can I still check out books?
    The Tarrant County College Libraries are open to users from the community. You will need to bring a photo id and fill out a brief form in order to get your community user card.

  • Will the Tarrant County College libraries proctor an exam?
    The Tarrant County College libraries do not proctor exams. Call one of the campus libraries to find out which agency on campus will proctor an exam.

  • How do I find Scholarly Peer-Reviewed Articles?
    For Peer Reviewed articles, begin searching in the EBSCOHost or ProQuest databases and be sure to indicate you wish to search only for Peer Reviewed/Scholarly articles in the Search Limits.

  • How do I find Literary Criticism in the databases?
    Use the Literature Resource Center database.

  • How can I get a free trial of PowerPoint for my home computer?
    A Free Trial of Microsoft Office Products (including PowerPoint) can be downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx

  • Where can I find tutorials or training to help me use the library?
    There are several tutorials available to help with using the TCCD Library catalogs and databases.

  • How do I check out a book from the TCC Libraries?
    You can use your TCC student ID to check out a book from any of the five campus libraries.
    If you do not yet have your student ID, you can present a copy of your schedule and fee statement showing your enrollment for this semester along with a picture ID (like your driver’s license) at the circulation desk of your campus library.

  • How long can I keep a book that I check out from the TCC Libraries?
    In most cases, books check out for three weeks. There are certain times during the semester when the checkout period may be less than three weeks, check with the circulation desk of your campus library for the due date of your book.
